Our Milestones
The school was opened at Hill Street as “World Vision International School”, lately branch of the London Academy of Speech was also established in the same premises and the school reached its full student enrollment by November.
The first annual concert is held with 27 students.
The first batch of students sat for their first Speech & Drama examination through Victoria College London and all students passed with honours.
Achieving All Island championship in Choral Speaking at the Festival of Music, dance & Speech affiliated to the British Federation of Festivals – UK.
The first batch of students sat for Speech examinations conducted by the Thames Valley University – UK and passed with Distinctions.
The primary section commenced with only two students.
British Teacher Training Programmes are held at the school. Many teachers from elite International & Government schools enrolled in the courses offered with British certification.
The first “Bhakthi Gee” programme was held.
The student population of the school reached its full enrollment capacity.
The first Christmas Carols & Graduation were held.
A new premise opens at Kiribathgoda as the student population increases.
Swimming was introduced to the students.
The first activity day was held.
Badminton was introduced to the Primary students.
Athletics was introduced to the Primary students.
The management decided to change the name of the school as “British International School”.
The school built its own swimming pool at Sapugaskande.
The school leased out a new premises in the Housing scheme, Kiribathgoda.
The school was moved to its own permanent premises.
